Kim Kardashian West promises “nude selfies” forever in her Webby Awards acceptance speech

Of course Kim Kardashian would have the most hilariously perfect acceptance speech at last night’s Webby Awards. The 35-year-old social media icon took the stage after being announced the winner of the first-ever “Break The Internet” award and, well, broke the internet all over again. Her five-word acceptance speech (as per the Webby’s rules) was perfect: “Nude selfies until I die.”

Some outlets are reporting Kim’s acceptance speech as “naked selfies until I die,” but either way, it’s pretty unforgettable. Either way, the sentiment has become Kim’s mantra after she caused a stir back in March when she posted this photo to Instagram:

She later responded to the backlash with another photo featuring model and Gone Girl actress Emily Ratajkowski:

It makes sense that Kim would win the Break The Internet award, since she was responsible for doing just that back in 2014 when her iconic cover of Paper magazine hit the web. She’s continued to make waves not just with nude photos, but with adorable pictures of Saint West and crazy throwbacks.

The Webby’s, hosted by Nick Offerman, honored so many deserving people, including Kim’s husband, Kanye West, who accepted his award for artist of the year by saying “I can’t stand short speeches.” As if you needed even more convincing that they are the perfect power couple!

We can’t think of a better person to champion this honor. Next year’s winner will have some pretty big shoes to fill — if they’re even wearing shoes at all!
