Kim Kardashian says she’s open to running for office — but there’s a catch

Stop the presses, because Kim Kardashian West said she could someday run for office. In an interview on CNN’s The Van Jones Show, Kim sat down with Jones to discuss her recent work with Donald Trump to get Alice Marie Johnson pardoned from prison. After the trip to the Oval Office, some fans began wondering if the reality star might be interested in a future in politics. And Kim said she wouldn’t rule it out — with the caveat that her answer in no way means it’s something she’s actively planning to do at this point in time.

Kardashian told Jones that her political activism wouldn’t stop with Johnson’s clemency. “There’s things that I do care about and things that I want to know, and I would love to be involved,” she said. “This success I think gives the whole team hope, and if I can be used as a vessel and if they can use me, they can use me, the attorneys…We all have the same goal.”

When Jones then asked if she might one day run for office, Kardashian responded,

"Oh, I don’t think that’s even on my mind," though she added, "I guess never say never."

However, before you start making your Kim K 2020 pins, the mother of three also told Jones, “[Political office is] not what I’m going for. I just want to help, starting one person at a time”

You can watch the exchange below.

Perhaps even more interesting is the fact that Kim revealed she’s interested in potentially becoming an attorney.

"If there wasn't the long college process, I would be an attorney," she noted. "But I researched that in the state of California I could assist an attorney for three years and just take the bar, so you never know."

Um, we kind of think that would be the Coolest. Thing. Ever.
