Kim Kardashian is personally lobbying the head of Twitter to create an edit button, is officially our hero
We’ve all been there. You painstakingly fashion the most perfect of Twitter posts, only to realize there’s a glaring typo the second you hit the “tweet” button. It happens to the best of us, and it’s one of the most undeniably frustrating parts of the thought-sharing app. Thankfully, Kim Kardashian has our backs. The reality star is personally lobbying Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to include an edit button on the platform. (#SheroOfTheWeek.)
Dorsey recently attended Kanye West’s 41st birthday party over the weekend of June 9th. And according to a tweet Kardashian posted on Tuesday, June 12th, she used the opportunity to broach the topic of an edit button with the CEO.
Sneaky, Kim — very sneaky.
"I had a very good convo with @jack this weekend at Kanye’s bday and I think he really heard me out on the edit button," she tweeted.
“Now I see why I was invited!” Dorsey jokingly tweeted back.

Now I see why I was invited!

Many Twitter users are currently applauding Kim’s efforts and thanking her for using her access to Twitter’s top dog to plead her (and so many other people’s) case. How convenient would it be if we could change our mistakes without having to delete and re-post?
Holy crap, ok. You’re making moves. Can you go talk to Instagram and get them to go back to chronological feed? Please and thanks for your service.

As frustrating as our Twitter typos can be, we admittedly understand why Dorsey is hesitant to introduce an edit feature. Being able to change what we’ve said at the literal click of a button could potentially make users less accountable for their words and stances, as some were quick to point out.
If you do it, give it a short time limit like one minute. To do otherwise invites people to rewrite past comments to cover them up.

we honestly don’t need one because it would just be problematic. you could RT a tweet you thought was “funny”. then someone would just change it to something like “RT If you would eat my booty”. i’m not for it.

From a literal social media manager: please no.

What are your thoughts? Yay or nay on the Twitter edit button?
