Kanye and Kim released the name they gave their new baby girl, and it’s such a sweet tribute to Kanye’s hometown
After announcing that their surrogate had given birth to a precious baby girl earlier this week, Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye West have now announced the little one’s name. And all our guesses, theories, and speculations were absolutely WRONG. In a super simple, and super millennial-pink post to social media, Kim has announced to the world the new member of their clan:
Chicago West.
By navigating over to Kim’s website, you can learn a few more things about ‘lil Chicago, like, she was born at 12:47 a.m. on January 15th, 2018 (but we knew that), and that she was 7 pounds and 6 ounces at birth. Because for some reason everyone loves to know how much babies weigh when they’re born, so here we go. One day, that’ll be a trivia question for Kardashian Trivial Pursuit, so please be sure to remember it forever.
And yes, if you’re wondering, the name Chicago is very much for proud papa Kanye, who famously hails from Chicago. Kanye has dropped so many references to Chicago over the years, so it’s absolutely adorable that now Baby Chicago can look back and see her name referenced in her dad’s songs even before she was born. Adorable.
Kim also shared that Chicago’s nickname will be “Chi,” and that’s super cute, but — if you’re reading this, Kim and Kanye, which I assume you are — her nickname should be Wendy, because Chicago is the Windy City. Just saying.
