Kim Kardashian revealed her favorite show as a kid, and it’s bizarrely perfect
Kim Kardashian just revealed that she’s been dreaming of reality TV stardom long before Keeping up with the Kardashians existed. The 37-year-old mogul and mom of three mentioned that growing up, she was hooked on MTV’s The Real World. So much so that she actually thought about applying. (We did, too, Kim. It was more or less the dream for all us ’90s kids).
Kim mentioned it in an interview with Business of Fashion, after saying she had been unfulfilled with the career path she was on.
"At one point I was in my early 20s and I was like, ‘I’ve got to figure something out.’ And then I saw that Jennifer Lopez did this movie and she was 28 years old. And I was like, ‘OK, I have a few more years,’ not knowing that at the time she had to work forever to get there — but I felt a sense of relief, like, ‘OK I have a little bit of time," Kim admitted.
However, she also said she always had a feeling about what she was supposed to be doing.
"When I was really young I always was — it’s the weirdest thing — but I loved 'The Real World.' And I would say to my best friend’s dad who was a manager, ‘You should be my manager! And when we’re 18 I’m going to send a tape into "The Real World" because I have to be on a reality show.’ Like that’s it! It clicked. This is what I want to do," Kim said. "And then the producers that produced 'The Real World' produced my show, so it kind of all came full circle."
We’re currently trying to imagine what it’d be like to see Kim hanging out in Seattle with Stephen, Irene, and David. Or in Hawaii with Ruthie and Amaya. Who knows? If she were cast, there may have never been a Keeping Up With The Kardashians (which, tbh, is NOT OKAY).
At the end of the day, we think everything worked out exactly the way it should have for Kim Kardashian. And our Kardashian-loving hearts are eternally grateful.
