This former Obama advisor and political analyst says Kim Kardashian “eats law books for breakfast”

On April 10th, Kim Kardashian announced her plans to pass the California bar exam, which will allow her to legally practice law within the state. The announcement wasn’t too surprising, considering that she’s repeatedly demonstrated her passion for social justice, but it seems like there’s still a number of people in the peanut gallery doubting both her commitment and her abilities. So we’re pretty pleased to know that CNN political analyst and former Obama adviser Van Jones recently called her “brilliant.”

On the April 25th episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Jones praised Kardashian and expressed support for her legal studies. However, he admitted that when he first met her at the White House in 2018, he underestimated her.

"I think like a lot of people, I had a misimpression, I still had her kinda like frozen in time back in the Paris Hilton days," Jones told Andy Cohen. "She's brilliant."

He said that now, he thinks she’ll make a great lawyer “because she’s incredibly persuasive and persistent and she eats law books for, like, breakfast.”

CNN notes that Kardashian has previously worked with Jones, who is also a former lawyer, on her criminal justice reform efforts. Jones also told Cohen that he speaks with her on a weekly basis. So clearly, Jones knows what he’s talking about when he says Kardashian would be a capable attorney.

"She cares a lot about criminal justice, she's spent a lot of time going to visit women in prison," Jones told Cohen. "I think people thought it was some kind of publicity stunt a year ago. She's the only celebrity I know—usually, I'm calling celebrities, asking them to help me on cases. She calls me, asking me to help her on cases."

All this just goes to show that you should never underestimate Kim Kardashian.
