Kim Kardashian Admits Co-Parenting With Kanye West Is “Really F*cking Hard”

Breaking down in tears, Kardashian also addresses the Balenciaga ad scandal.

Kim Kardashian is shedding rare insight into her “f*cking hard” co-parenting relationship with ex-husband Kanye West. On Monday’s episode of the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, the SKIMS founder broke down in tears about the situation.

The mom of four discussed how she is continuing — and will continue to — shelter her children from learning about their controversial father’s wrongdoings for the sake of their relationship with him.

Since their divorce became public in Feb. of 2021, West has publicly ridiculed Kardashian as a mother. The former couple share kids North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

“It’s hard,” Kardashian said during the episode. “Sh*t like co-parenting, it’s really f*cking hard.”

This year, West has also come under fire for calling the Black Lives Matter movement a “scam” and for his anti-semetic remarks on social media.

Despite the universe calling for the rapper’s cancellation (some are even removing their Ye-inspired tattoos), Kardashian refuses to acknowledge West’s harmful behavior with or in front of her kids.

“I definitely protected him and I still will in the eyes of my kids. For my kids,” Kardashian said of her ex-husband. “So, in my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on [in] the outside world.”

Some may raise an eyebrow at this. However, the reality TV star maturely argues that the things that are being said by and about West is “real, heavy grownup sh*t,” which her kids “are not ready to deal with.”

“If they don’t know things that are being said, why would I ever bring that energy to them?” Kardashian said. Their kids’ range in age from three to nine years old.

She added: “One day, my kids will thank me for not sitting here and bashing their dad. I could.”

West isn’t the only one being bashed by fans. Kardashian is in a kettle of hot water herself following Balenciaga’s controversial ad campaign.

“With the Balenciaga thing… everyone was like, ‘Why aren’t you speaking out? Why aren’t you speaking out?’ And I’m like, ‘Wait. I’m not in this campaign,'” Kardashian recalled on the podcast.

The campaign in question featured children dressed in bondage holding teddy bears. As one of the more prominent faces of Balenciaga, Kardashian has received a brunt of the backlash.

Upon further research, Kardashian did speak out on Instagram. Albeit, her statement denouncing the campaign came more than a week after its launch, and many believe Kardashian’s words were too little too late.

Amidst the scandal, Kardashian also didn’t necessarily say she’d be cutting all ties with Balenciaga but rather “reevaluating my relationship with the brand,” per People. This also irked fans.

“But because I didn’t say, ‘F*ck you, Balenciaga. That’s it,’ people got mad at that,” Kardashian said. “So they’re mad if I don’t speak out. They’re mad if I do speak out, and if I don’t cancel.”

“You don’t want to be a part of the narrative, but you’re brought in,” she continued. At the end of the day, “no matter what, you can’t win” Kardashian quipped.
