Sorry SJP, but Kim Cattrall had a VERY different response to Cynthia Nixon’s Instagram condolences

The drama between Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker keeps on coming, and the latest unfolded on Instagram. On Saturday, February 10th, Cattrall posted an angry message to Sarah Jessica Parker after Parker wished her former Sex and the City co-star well following Cattrall’s announcement that her missing brother was found dead. But Cattrall was having exactly none of it. “I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker,” Cattrall wrote in a scathing Instagram post.
But Sarah Jessica Parker wasn’t the only SATC actress to offer Kim Cattrall some kindness. Cynthia Nixon did too — and Cattrall had a completely different response, which might make SATC fans feel a little better about all of the recent drama. Nobody wants to see these ladies feud, especially given that the show’s greatest message is the importance of female friendship.
To help ease the pain, just focus on the comment that Cattrall posted on Instagram directed to Nixon. “Cynthia, hearing your voice meant so much to me. Thank you for reaching out. Love Kim #SexandtheCity,” Cattrall wrote to Nixon in response. Not only did Cattrall seemingly appreciate hearing from Nixon, but she signed the comment “Love,” and that’s the kind of friendship that SATC fans want to see.
The feud between SJP and Kim Cattrall dates way back. The two notoriously have bad blood, but the PDA — public display of animosity, that is — that Cattrall posted still shocked fans. To know that Samantha and Carrie not only don’t get along but dislike each other IRL is almost unbearable.
Kim Cattrall is clearly going through a lot of pain right now.
As mentioned before, Cattrall’s brother Christopher Cattrall was found dead after he’d gone missing from his home in Alberta, Canada. SJP commented on Cattrall’s Instagram post announcing her brother’s death with kind words.
“Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Godspeed to your beloved brother. Xx,” Parker wrote. A few days later, Cattrall thanked her fans for sending her support. But then, she clarified that she didn’t appreciate Parker’s words.
SJP had spoken about feeling heartbroken for Kim Cattrall following the death of her brother.
Just a couple days before Cattrall’s Instagram-heard-around-the-world, Parker told an audience at the Paley Center for Media that she was thinking of her former co-star. “If somebody in your life, whether you’re in touch with them or not, [is] suffering for any reason, it’s involuntary that you want to convey condolences or sadness or just let someone know you’re thinking about them,” Parker said.
At the same event, Parker later spoke about the possibility of a third Sex and the City movie, which Cattrall has said she does not want to be a part of. “I think everybody’s inclined to consider it,” Parker continued.
If a third Sex and the City movie should happen, it’s highly likely that Cattrall won’t be a part of it. One of the biggest rumors about Parker and Cattrall’s feud has to do with Cattrall “demanding” more money and halting the movies’ productions. But the truth is that Cattrall simply doesn’t want to be in a third SATC movie.
This is all pretty heartbreaking for SATC fans who wish Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker could be just like Samantha and Carrie. At least Cattrall and Nixon remain friends, so fans can focus on that.
