Because the world *needs* more Sandra Oh, “Killing Eve” has been renewed ahead of its series premiere
You know a television show is phenomenal if it gets renewed season after season. It’s an indication that fans are clamoring for more, with companies tripping over each other to secure a commercial spot during airtime. Such is the case for Sandra Oh’s new show, Killing Eve, AND IT HASN’T EVEN AIRED YET.
That just means one thing: Killing Eve *has* to be insanely good. But we all expected that, right? Right!
In case you need a Killing Eve refresher: The BBC America show revolves around two women; Eve (Sandra Oh) is a secret agent bored out of her wits at her job, and is looking to prove herself with higher-profile cases. Her big break comes in the form of Villanelle (Jodie Comer), a skilled assassin who quickly becomes obsessed with her chaser, and the two inadvertently find themselves in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
"This show has the thunder of women on both sides of the chase in Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer and, importantly, behind the camera with the lavishly brilliant Phoebe Waller-Bridge," BBC America president said in a statement.
"The early response to Killing Eve has been incredible — for that reason, as well as the fact that we wholeheartedly love this original, funny, thrillingly entertaining series, we are delighted to move ahead with a second season before we even premiere."

This show marks Sandra Oh’s first series regular role since she retired her scrubs on Grey’s Anatomy following a 10-season run.
Her longtime stint as Dr. Cristina Yang snagged her a Golden Globe, two SAG Awards, and five Emmy nominations. If Killing Eve is really as good as it appears to be, then we’re expecting it to span for a long period of time, with multiple awards to boot, just like Grey’s!
Killing Eve premieres on BBC America on April 8th. But if you can’t wait until Sunday to witness Sandra’s return to TV, you can watch the full pilot episode on the BBC America website right now. And honestly, who can wait?!
