Kiernan Shipka showed up to the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards looking like a mermaid on land
It’s officially awards season, so that means that we should all prepare ourselves for an onslaught red carpet fashion inspo. There are sure to be a few fashion misses and moments that make you scratch your head, but also tons of looks that will have you saying yassss and wondering how you can recreate the trend. Case in point: Kiernan Shipka.
One red carpet style trend we continue to see revolves around mythical mermaids. The looks are bright, ethereal, and all about having fun. Even our favorite badass Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, got in on the the mermaid dress trend at the 2017 VMAs. As for Kiernan, the 18-year-old actress showed off her playful side in a look that probably made everyone smile.
Some red carpets are a bit more stuffy and buttoned-up (hello, Oscars!), but Kiernan used the Critics’ Choice Awards as the perfect time to whip out this fun look. Because seriously, where else can you wear cotton candy-colored tulle, beading, jacquard pants, and a train all in one outfit? Kiernan took a style risk, and we love it.

Kiernan chose to rock the Spanish brand Delpozo for the night’s event. The ensemble included a tulle embroidered top and jacquard skinny pants.
