Charli XCX is helping Kiehl’s raise awareness about the rise of HIV diagnoses in young people

Few things in life bring us as much joy as when our beloved brands collaborate with charities to raise awareness of causes that need our help — we can indulge in our beauty obsession while also being able to make a difference in the world. One of our faves, Kiehl’s, is hosting their 8th annual LifeRide for amfAR to bring awareness about the rise of HIV diagnoses in young people with the help of some pretty rad celebs, like Charli XCX. 

This annual motorcycle ride raises funds as well as awareness, which is particularly important since the focus of this year’s message is on a generation that wasn’t yet born when the epidemic first came to the public consciousness. This is to ensure that HIV/AIDS awareness and research rises to the top of their minds.

As part of the project, Charli XCX released a PSA with Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR to get the word out as early as possible.

Charli XCX shares key statistics that younger people need to be aware of to protect themselves and reach out and help others. The fact that 1 in 5 new HIV diagnoses are people between the ages of 13 and 24 is particularly sobering, and we hope that this encourages young people to take action.

The Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR begins July 31st in Minneapolis and ends on August 7th.
