Khloe Kardashian reveals the heartbreaking reason she pretended to try to get pregnant with Lamar Odom

The Kardashian clan is forever giving us sister goals, and Khloe Kardashian’s offer to be a surrogate for sister Kim Kardashian’s third baby if she wanted is just one example of that. But in a new clip from Sunday’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians season finale, we learn that Khloe Kardashian tried to get pregnant before…sort of.

In the teaser, we see Khloe and Kim visiting the former’s fertility specialist, who asks Khloe if she’s ever been pregnant in the past or attempted to become pregnant.

"I fake tried," she said. "I was married, but I knew the circumstances weren't the healthiest so I just kept pretending I was doing it."

Though this makes us really sad to hear in a way, we’re really glad Khloe followed her gut as far as doing what was right for her and a potential family expansion at the time.

As has been chronicled on the show, Khloe married Lamar Odom in 2009 after they were together for a month. The twosome eventually divorced after seven years of marriage and some tumultuous challenges they faced both together and separately, physically and emotionally. Khloe and Lamar’s attempt to conceive was also documented on the show at the time.

"When I was doing my fertility treatments, they were more for Lamar," Khloe admits candidly in the confessional portion of the finale preview clip. "I had to stop 'cause there was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage."

She adds, “I knew that it wasn’t the right situation to bring a child into, and I think I’ve done a lot of covering up for him, like even when it made me look like I was the problem. But I was fine taking on that burden on my shoulders because he had a lot of other deeper s— to deal with.”

We know these two have moved on, and we hope they’re both healthier and happier in their lives now. But we’re also glad they can both be open about their feelings and their mutual respect for one another after all this time.

We’re sending Khloe all the positive vibes for her fertility, and hope everything works out for her and Kim (and Lamar, too) in a way that will keep them all safe, happy, and fulfilled.
