Khloé Kardashian opened up about the important reason she stopped breastfeeding
There’s no one right way to nourish your child, but unfortunately, the stigma and mommy-shaming around “to breastfeed or not to breastfeed” continues to rage on both the internet and IRL. While breastfeeding is the natural choice for some, many moms find nursing incredibly difficult. And Khloé Kardashian, who welcomed her baby daughter True in April, recently tweeted that she is no longer breastfeeding, and her reason is important.
In response to a tweet from a fan on July 7th, Khloé revealed that breastfeeding just wasn’t working with her body.
I had to stop breast feeding 😩😩😩 it was really hard for me to stop (emotionally) but it wasn’t working for my body. Sadly

When another well-meaning Twitter user advised her to drink lots of water, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star replied that “it wasn’t that easy for me.”
Ugh it wasn’t that easy for me. I tried every trick in the book- water, special cookies, power pumping, massages etc. I tried so very hard to continue. https://t.co/UYDjvbJHZg

Khloé went on to reveal that she even consulted a lactation specialist before making the decision to stop.

Khloé’s experience isn’t unusual for new moms. NPR reported that a 2013 study from the University of California Davis Medical Center found that only 13% of 418 surveyed moms managed to exclusively nurse their babies for the first six months. Yet so many new moms feel like failures when they experience a completely normal problem.
We’re so glad Khloé is sharing her experience, because we’re certain it will help so many new moms feel less alone. Parenting is hard, and there’s no one right way to do it.
