Kesha wore a suit printed with cat faces because she is a genius
Kesha wore a suit printed with cat faces because she knows true happiness.
The singer strolled through LAX wearing a blouse with an asymmetrical cat-print and matching blousy trousers, looking like a chic, wacky, 1970’s-meets-2010’s trailblazer. A perfect combination, given that the 29-year-old had just received news that she’ll be awarded the Trailblazer Award at Billboard Women in Music 2016.
“By combining artistic fearlessness with unbounded creative energy, Kesha has continually pushed the limits of what was once thought possible in pop music,” said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group.
“She’s a force on stage, an inspiration in person and a true Trailblazer for millions of music fans around the world.”
The two-piece Stella McCartney cat-print shirt and slacks go for $950 each. McCartney is known for her eccentric prints that are at once classic and unexpected. A lot like Kesha’s music, actually.
An announcement by Billboard mentions Kesha’s courageous presence in the media in bringing charges against alleged abuser/producer Dr. Luke. Her bravery to face her abuser and demand respect from the music industry did not weaken her musical accomplishments.
Kesha’s had nine songs in the top 10 of Billboard’s Pop Songs chart and four number-one’s. “Tik Tok” saw the fifth-most digital sales in one week of any song. In addition, she’s a digital phenomenon: her songs have been purchased digitally over 32 million times and streamed almost 900 million times.
And she hearts cats! Kesha, you are us; we are you.
