Kesha’s thoughts on the Grammys are actually an amazing motivational speech
Kesha is our hero. The singer posted an open letter on Instagram, celebrating artists and those who create despite grappling with self-doubt.
First, the TiK ToK artist acknowledged her industry peers who were recognized at the Grammys. Then, she turned her attention to anyone who makes art.
“Anyone who makes art, you win,” she wrote.
“All art is good, even if it’s not, because it’s vulnerable self-expression, and that’s a WIN in my book. So make it, even if it’s s— and you don’t feel like you know what the fuck you’re doing, try.”
“Whatever medium pulls at your spirit, try it.
Amid contract litigation and a legal battle with producer Dr. Luke, whom she accused of sexual and emotional abuse, Kesha has continued to create.
She told the New York Times in October that she recorded 22 new songs even though her work is still in limbo due to her lawsuit.
Dr. Luke’s legal team has challenged her arguments, saying the label is currently working with her to release an album from her new songs.
We never cease to be amazed by Kesha’s drive and persistence in the face of adversity.
When Kesha speaks up, we all win.
