Kerry Washington drools while delivering serious dialogue with a cheek retractor in her mouth, and we are LOLing forever

We adore Kerry Washington on so many levels. She’s a talented actress, a powerful advocate, and – it turns out – a total goofball. Kerry showed her playful side while visiting Ellen, and we can’t get enough of it.

Ellen DeGeneres talked to Kerry about how impressive and speedy her dialogue is on her hit show Scandal.

She then asked Kerry to play a goofy game called “Speak Out,” which messes with your ability to articulate. The game involves putting in a set of cheek retractors that totally change your ability to speak. Kerry was a total sport about the whole thing, and the results were nothing short of hilarious.

The gorgeous actress immediately transformed into a much goofier-looking version of herself when she put in the cheek retractors.

She began with just one line of somewhat simple dialogue that Ellen was supposed to guess.

But after trying it once, she immediately laughed so hard she actually drooled. Ellen, and the rest of the audience, began laughing hysterically.

Even Ellen was surprised that Kerry would be willing to go so far outside of her comfort zone. But, Kerry explains that she’s approaching it like a challenge for herself to get better.

She said, "I'm always looking for ways to get new exercise for my mouth and you said this was the way."

Though it took Ellen several guesses to get to the first line Kerry tried, it was well worth the wait. Her next bit of dialogue was almost incomprehensible, and the whole cycle of laughter and drooling started over again.

The actress used her expressive face and her excellent act out skills to make up for what her dialogue lacked.

But the long bits of giggling between guesses meant they didn’t get to too many tries before game time was up. Though, TBH, watching her attempt to play the game was so much more entertaining than anything she could have said.

You know a game is going well when even the queen of comedy, Ellen DeGeneres, has to dab her eyes from laughing so hard she’s crying. Ellen has had some really funny, charming moments on her show. But this one has to be one of our absolute favorites.
