Kerry Washington is developing a female-driven police drama with ABC, and we’re all in!

Anything featuring the amazing talents of Kerry Washington is something we want to see, so you can only imagine our excitement when we found out that she’s executive producing a new police drama for ABC! And this is not your regular police drama. It’s WAY better.

The show is called Patrol, and according to Variety it centers around four female LAPD officers who trained at the police academy together and are forced to reconnect “after a high-stakes, traumatic secret returns to haunt them.”

Whoa! That sounds like a whole lot of girl power, and to that we give a resounding…

So, are you desperate to know more? Well, the script is being penned by Chitra Sampath who was a staff writer on Southland. She has a slew of other writing and producing credits, including Secrets and LiesSleepy Hollow, and TNT’s upcoming Good Behavior. She’s also a huge advocate of Washington! false

Washington’s producing the show with her newly formed production company, Simpson Street. We love that this kickass lady is making kickass things happen!

While it hasn’t been confirmed who will play the LAPD officers, we’re betting the cast will be awesome. And maybe we’ll even see an appearance from Washington herself (hugging ourselves with excitement).

Is there anything Kerry Washington can’t do?
