Kerry Washington had the best birthday

If you’re Kerry Washington, you can afford to go all out for your birthday. We’re talking fireworks, dancing, late-night parties. That’s what the actress had in mind when her birthday rolled around a few weeks ago, but when everything was said and done, she ended up doing something totally different, but just as special.

Kerry had so many ideas, as she revealed on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! She wanted to see J.Lo in Vegas or go see the new Cirque du Soleil show, surrounded by friends and family because you know what? She deserves it.

Turns out, that’s not what happened. Her plans never came together so when the night of her birthday rolled around, she and her husband had to make a choice, and they chose something amazing.

The two hopped in the car and drove to Disneyland. No kids, no obligations, just two adults running around the most magical place on Earth. Kerry got to ride all of her favorite (terrifying) attractions, and spent her birthday realizing that while the years may fly by, we’re all still kids at heart.
