Kendall Jenner opens up about her history with panic attacks and anxiety

Kendall Jenner had a fantastic 2016. She began the year on vacation, walked in all the major fashion weeks, and capped the year off by walking in her second Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. But Jenner is also human, so while it looked like her year was absolutely fabulous on Instagram, she’s now opening up about some of the hardships she’s faced. On her blog, Jenner wrote a post about the ups and downs from 2016 and she got real about her struggle with anxiety and how she coped with it last year.

She wrote,

“Anxiety was a huge hurdle for me to deal with this past year (and security concerns didn’t help), but I think I’m finally learning how to cope.

Jenner has been in the public eye for most of her young life, with Keeping up with the Kardashians beginning when she was just twelve years old. Since then, Jenner has grown up in one of the most famous families in the world.

This past year brought some scary experiences for the family, with Kim Kardashian West being robbed at gunpoint in October. So, while their lives may seem Insta-perfect, they still face some ~serious~ anxiety issues as everyday people.

On an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Jenner opened up about her having a panic attack on an airplane. She said,

"It is so weird as I get like super light-headed when I am on planes and I feel like I am going to faint. I don't know what to do as I am freaking out about even flying home."

But Jenner learned a lot about herself and coping mechanisms for her anxiety this year. She wrote in her post,

"[I] learned that it's all mental, so I try to prevent anxiety attacks by bringing my mind somewhere else.

We’re so proud of Kendall for putting her mental health first. And we hope 2017 brings her peace of mind and happiness.
