So… Turns out there’s a reason why Kendall Jenner used pizza emojis to cover her nipples

If you’ve been following Kendall Jenner for the last few years, you’d see that she is a proud supporter of Free the Nipple, a gender equality campaign that is advocating for the de-censoring of women’s nipples in everyday life. She’s been very vocal about not wanting to wear bras in the past and now she’s opening up about that Instagram pic, in which she brushed past Instagram’s nipple censors using the pizza emoji.

Nearly three months later, Jenner took to her app to explain how that Insta pic came to be and why she chose pizza emojis.

In a blog post, Jenner revealed that she took the picture for the same reason a million other girls do: To get an opinion from her friends. Jenner said she texted BFFs Hailey Baldwin and Gigi Hadid for approval of her top, but made use of an amazing pic. 

"I took this photo over the summer in New York. I don't know if you can relate, but I just felt like I was having a really good boob day, lol. Do you know what I mean? Your boobs go through phases and on this particular day, I felt like they just looked nice! 🙂 My shirt was see-through, so I took this photo and just texted it to Hailey and Gigi before I left to meet them and was like, 'Is this too much?' They wrote back, 'It's kind of a lot, but if you're into it, go for it!'"

She also said that the pizza emojis were a reference to the DJ group she’s a part of called The Pizza Boys. It turns out she was making an inside joke on a very public picture.

Over the summer, likely around the same time she took that gorg pic, Jenner wrote a post on her blog titled “Free The Nipple,” in which she talked about her decision to go braless.

“Lately, it’s like I’m either braless or I have my bra out, lol. I’m all about freeing the nipple! Jenner wrote. “I really don’t see what the big deal is with going braless! I think it’s cool and I really just don’t care! It’s sexy, it’s comfortable and I’m cool with my breasts. That’s it!

We love how Jenner isn’t letting people tell her what to do with her body. She seems like a strong person and we definitely support her in all her Free the Nipple endeavors.
