Kelly Osbourne’s new tattoo honors the victims of the Orlando shooting
Kelly Osbourne revealed a touching new head tattoo on Tuesday, explaining that she got it to honor the victims of the Orlando shooting.
Though unconventional in its placement, the tattoo is really rather simple; it’s the word “solidarity.” Before getting the official ink, Osbourne wrote the word on her head with marker for this Sunday’s L.A. Pride Parade.
A few days later, she put the official tattoo on Instagram, along with a beautiful and powerful explanation. “Individually, we have rights and unique gifts. Together, we have strength and powerful harmony. I have wanted to get this tattoo for a long time. The tragedy in Orlando devastated me and reminded me that every moment of our lives is precious. Every human is precious. Love hard. Live gracefully, authentically and with conviction, respect, purpose and compassion.”
She finished up the message writing, “Together we achieve what is impossible to those who stand alone. Those of us who embrace and respect freedom stand together, progress together, celebrate together and grieve together. You are not alone.”
On the other side of her head, Kelly has another tattoo. It simply says, “stories.”
Solidarity and stories, two of the most powerful things on this earth. And a beautiful message to make permanent.
