Kelly Clarkson and Josh Groban just gave us chills with this ‘Phantom of the Opera’ duet

Kelly Clarkson has proved time and time again that she’s the queen of covers. She’s performed gorgeous renditions of so many classics, doing the original justice while putting her own spin on it (“Bye Bye Bye,” “Heaven,” “B*tch Better Have My Money,” and “Blank Space” just to name a FEW). But we’re pretty sure her latest tops it all. Maybe because if you combine Kelly Clarkson, Josh Groban, and one of the most famous musicals of all time, you get pure BLISS.

For Josh’s latest tour, he recently brought Kelly onstage to sing “All I Ask” from Phantom of the Opera. And he knew when he was choosing his Christine that she had to be absolutely stellar (it IS Phantom we’re talking about, after all.) Who better than the queen of covers?

“I knew that this duet had to be recorded in a very, very special way, and it had to be recorded with a very special singer,” Josh said while introducing Kelly. “She’s one of the most versatile singers that I’ve ever heard, she’s got one of the most beautiful voices that I’ve wanted to sing with for ages.”

And when you put these two talented artists together with an orchestra playing in the background, their voices are hauntingly beautiful. Seriously, we got chills listening — and watching, because as they belt it out, Raoul (I mean, Josh) in a suit and tie and Kelly in a floor-length black gown, it’s pretty much like you’re watching talent incarnate. Check it out and be prepared to get some serious chills. (We vote a full showing of Phantom with Josh and Kelly starring. Let’s make this happen, Broadway.)
