On repeat: Kelly Clarkson’s beauty-filled Tracy Chapman cover

Want some talent for your earholes? Well you’re in luck, because Kelly Clarkson has done it again.

Since winning the very first season of American Idol way back in 2002 (want to feel old? That was 13 YEARS AGO), Kelly has made it pre-tty clear that she is a serious vocal force. Girl can SING. We’re of course in love with her poppy, happy “Heartbeat Song,” but woman is versatile and ready to wow us with covers like nobody’s business.

Throughout her mighty impressive career Kelly has covered plenty of our fave hit songs with her own twist and completely killed it each and every time. Some examples: fun.’s “We Are Young,” Adele’s “Someone Like You,” and Florence and the Machine’s “Shake It Out.” Swoon. Swoon. Swoon.

Now, girl has gone and covered Tracy Chapman’s “Give Me One Reason” on SiriusXM. Of course the original is amazing times a thousand, but we can’t get enough of Kelly’s sultry, gritty, deep voice giving the track new life-blood. She hits every single note and injects so much of her own attitude into the ’90’s classic. We’ve heard her rock so many genres, but we truly think she was meant to sing the blues.

Listen for yourself, and then cross your fingers that a blues album is in Kelly Clarkson’s future.
