Kelly Clarkson has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson is reportedly ending her nearly seven-year marriage to Brandon Blackstock. Though neither of the two has commented publicly on the matter, Entertainment Tonight reports that the Clarkson filed for divorce in Los Angeles on June 4th, reportedly citing “irreconcilable differences.” The Blast, which was the first to report news of the divorce, also reportedly obtained Clarkson’s court documents.

Clarkson and Blackstock have been quarantining together with their children amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic at their Montana ranch home—even remotely hosting her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, from there. The “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer is stepmom to Blackstock’s two children from a prior marriage, 17-year-old Savannah and 11-year-old Seth. The couple also has two children together. Clarkson gave birth to River Rose in 2014 and then to Remington “Remy” Alexander in April of 2016.

Clarkson first met Blackstock in 2006, when he walked by as she was rehearsing for the American Music Awards, Good Housekeeping reports. Blackstock’s dad was Clarkson’s manager at the time and his stepmom is Reba McEntire, Kelly’s mentor, so the two were intertwined from the start. They started dating years later in 2011, eventually got engaged in December 2012, and they were married almost a year later, in October 2013.

We wish Clarkson and her family the best as they navigate this difficult and stressful time.
