Keke Palmer’s next TV role has us *screaming* with excitement

One of our favorite Scream Queens is about to be the target of a new serial killer as it was just announced that Keke Palmer will be starring in the third season of MTV’s Scream.

The MTV anthology series has been retooled for its latest season, leaving the fictional town of Lakewood behind for Atlanta, and featuring a whole new set of high school students for Ghostface to attack.

Palmer will play Kym, a social activist willing to do whatever it takes to unmask the killer and survive as they continue to strike. Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl’s RJ Cyler will also star as Deion Elliot, a star running back with a tragic past that’ll, of course, come back to haunt him and his friends.

Starring alongside Palmer and Cyler are Giorgia Whigham, who’ll play resident goth and horror expert Beth (every Scream installment needs a resident horror expert, after all), Jessica Sula will play new girl and Deion’s potential love interest Liv, and Giullian Yao Gioiello will star as openly gay brainiac, Manny. They join Tyga, and C.J. Wallace who were previously announced as part of the cast as Deion’s step-brother Jamal and the socially awkward Amir, respectively.

We’re already putting together our Ghostface killer short list!

The shortened season will feature six episodes and will play out over during a three night event on MTV in March. The series will also be shaking up its creative team, as The Vampire Diaries producer Brett Matthews will serve as show runner and Queen Latifah will be added as an executive producer.

The third season of Scream will premiere on MTV in March.
