What E! originally wanted to call “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” is bananas

The Kardashian family is about to celebrate 10 years of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. It literally feels like we’ve been hearing about this show for our entire lives. The long-winded name has become a fixture in our society, so much so, that we can’t imagine calling it anything else. And we certainly cannot imagine calling it Krazy Kardashians, even though it almost was named exactly that.

All the Kardashian/Jenner ladies and several executives involved with the creation of the show sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss a decade of Keeping Up and all the secrets and production bumps along the way.

One reveal that had us saying, “WUT?” was the original workshopped titles for the show.

“We were up against an air date and didn’t have a title we loved. There were a few contenders: The Kardashians: Krazy With a K,” Damla Dogan, Senior VP of development at E! told The Hollywood Reporter.

Living Kardashian, Krazy Kardashians…” adds in Farnaz Farjam, current programming VP at the show’s production company Bunim/Murray.

“But none that we loved,” adds Dogan. “We were having our big launch meeting where we invite the producers to come in and tell our internal departments about the show, so everyone can get on the same page.”

“We all had been tasked with coming to the meeting with some title ideas and when it was my turn I had to confess I didn’t have a list,” continues Farjam, “I made a factual statement that I was ‘too busy keeping up with the Kardashians.’”

“Instantly, we knew that was our title,” says Dogan.

Can you imagine telling people, “Sorry I can’t get dinner on Sunday, I’m staying home to watch the Krazy Kardashians.

Actually, wait, that sounds like a perfect title. ?
