Katy Perry’s post-election tweets are so significant regardless of the results

The thing with elections is that for a large proportion of the population the results aren’t going to be what was expected. However, rather than feeling defeated, it’s important to hold on to optimism. That’s why we’re in awe of Katy Perry’s post-election tweets.

You might be aware that Katy Perry was a HUGE supporter of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. In fact, Perry was been pretty involved with Hillary’s campaign; she took over Hillary’s Instagram account and even performed at the DNC in July.

What’s more, Perry used her high profile and social media power to encourage people to go out and vote for Hillary Clinton.

It’s safe to say, then, that Katy Perry might be disappointed with the result of the election.

However, rather than resort to angry tweets, a defeatist attitude, or a negative mindset, Perry decided to use her voice for positivity and it’s so significant regardless of the results.

Firstly, the star re-tweeted fellow singer Lady Gaga and her message about “staying strong.”

After seeing the tweet, Perry decided to share it with her own message.

This message sparked a string of important and powerful messages from Katy Perry about what happens next.

Continuing on Twitter, Perry announced that “we will never be silenced.”

"The revolution is coming. Rise up," she wrote. "Power to the people. We will never be silenced #LoveTrumpsHate."

Perry then made an impassioned cry to her followers.

"Do not sit still. Do not weep. MOVE. We are not a nation that will let HATE lead us," she finished.

Perry also decided to share tweets from activist and actor Jesse Williams and an A&R from her label.

We have to say, we’re in awe of Katy Perry’s grace and her positivity. While things might not have worked out the way she wanted, we love that she’s been able to keep positive during this time of uncertainty and has responded to the results with action and optimism.
