Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are engaged, and the ring is SO Katy Perry
Congratulations are in order, because Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are engaged. It appears as though the big development happened yesterday, February 14th (yes, Valentine’s Day)—at least based on posts on both their Instagram accounts. Bloom took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with Perry, a wall of heart-shaped balloons behind them and a ring prominently displayed on her finger. He captioned the post with a simple “Lifetimes.” Perry posted the same photo to her feed, captioning hers with “Full Bloom”
Okay, NOW THAT RING. The piece appears to consist of a large ruby surrounded by diamonds arranged in the shape of a flower. It’s equal parts glam and girly, and it’s so Katy Perry. You done well, Bloom.
The Bloom and Perry dating timeline began in 2016 when the pair were spotted getting flirty at a Golden Globes afterparty. They soon were an official item, but parted ways for a spell in February 2017 (while remaining friends). A source confirmed they were “dating” again by March 2018, but not “putting a label on it.” The pair seemed to basically make it official in the ensuing months, making red carpet appearance together and flirting via Instagram…and now, it seems, it’s officially official.
This will be the second wedding for both Perry and Bloom (Perry was married to British comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012, and Bloom was married to model Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013). We can’t wait for these nuptials…but we have to know, will Left Shark be invited?
