Katie Leung, aka Cho Chang, just shared what was “horrific” about her “Harry Potter” kissing scene
Katie Leung, the actress who played Cho Chang in the Harry Potter movies, became the envy of teenage girls everywhere when she gave Harry his first kiss in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
The kiss played on the big screen in 2007, almost 10 years ago. Now, Katie reflects back on filming that scene and says that something in particular about it was “horrific.” No, it wasn’t Daniel’s kissing skills or his breath—it was her haircut.
“I wish I never cut my hair the way I did,” she told PEOPLE. “I had this horrific haircut!”
In later films her bangs grew out and her hairdo changed. Still, the actress says she can be very “judgmental” of herself and her performances, and has trouble re-watching the films now. “You grow as an actor and you change your choices,” she continued. “That’s partly why I can’t watch them.”
Don’t worry Katie, the haircut totally suited Cho. We thought it was cute! And to be honest, we weren’t really looking at your hair. We were focused on you guys k-i-s-s-i-n-g. Besides, there’s supposed to be at least one thing awkward about a couple’s first kiss. If that one thing is your haircut, I’d call that a success.
