Kate Winslet, a true BFF, is too focused on Leo winning awards to have time for anything else
If you were watching the 2016 Golden Globes earlier this month, you may have noticed that when Kate Winslet won her Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Steve Jobs, she looked a little bit surprised. That’s because she had her mind on something else: her BFF Leonardo DiCaprio.
“I was shocked!” she told E! host Giuliana Rancic on the 2016 SAG Awards red carpet this Saturday. “To be honest with you, [it was] because I’ve been so focused on Leo and him winning everything and being so excited for him.”
CUTENESS. We can only imagine that Leo, who won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama for his portrayal in The Revenant, is just as pumped for Kate’s win as she is for his — because they will never let go. And we don’t want them to, because they’re pretty much the most adorable friend-couple in Hollywood the world has ever seen.
Kate also explained to Guiliana that her pal wasn’t the only reason she was surprised — she also knew there was some fierce competition surrounding the award this year.
“Also there were other actress who have floated in and out of the supporting category but other consistent nominees have been Alicia Vikander, Rooney Mara, and I just thought ‘One of those girls is surely going to win, and I’m absolutely not going to win this,’ so I was genuinely, extremely shocked,” she said.
Just makes that win all the more sweeter. Check out the clip of Kate below, and be prepared to have total #friendshipgoals.
