Kate Upton got married in the perfect wedding gown for a fall bride

How do you top off a Word Series win? Marry a supermodel a week later! That’s what happened when Kate Upton wed pitcher Justin Verlander. The Houston Astros pitcher and the model had a picture-perfect wedding this weekend. It was everything you would expect from a Sports Illustrated model and a sports champ. The destination wedding. The flowers. The handsome couple. Everything was a yes!

Held outdoors in Tuscany, Italy, Kate was a vision of perfection in her ivory and lace wedding dress.

Under the Tuscan sun.

While summer is the season for most weddings, Kate made a case for the fall and winter bride. Her dress was still dreamy and princess-like, but the addition of the sleeves made it totally appropriate for the chillier months or an outdoor affair. The Valentino gown featured a classic a-line style and long sheer veil.

Kate and Justin maintain a pretty low-key profile, but it was just a week ago when she wore her love for her guy during his World Series game. Kate rocked a custom denim jacket with Justin’s name emblazoned on the back. And since the Astros won their very first championship, we’re betting on Kate being the good luck charm.

Astros’ good luck charm? We say yes!

Earlier this year, Kate did share a few nuptial planning details with Martha Stewart Weddings. She said she found the process intimidating, but when it came to a dress, she had an idea of the style she wanted.

"I kind of know the shapes that look best on my body, or make me feel best, because of my red-carpet experience. Usually it's something that accentuates my waist. There are so many fun details you can do with bridal that you can't do with other dresses..."

Congrats to the gorgeous couple!
