Kate Middleton rocked a ’70s-style, off-the-shoulder red dress, and here’s how to copy her look
We’re used to seeing Kate Middleton in classic silhouettes fit for a princess. But her latest look is all ’70s chic, and we are low-key obsessed with it.
Kate and husband Prince William are touring Germany this week, but the duchess totally stole the show at a garden party. Kate was red-hot in an off-the-shoulder dress, looking like a bohemian goddess at the Queen’s Birthday Garden Party at the Ambassador’s Residence in Berlin yesterday.
Of course, Kate still looked totally polished, but we love the daring Alexander McQueen frock she chose for the occasion. She looked like the salsa dancing lady emoji brought to life, and the good news is we’ve found a few affordable options so you can snag a dress just like hers.
The duchess paired her statement-making red gown with dangly red earrings by Simone Rocha and wavy strap beige sandals…the perfect complement to her traffic-stopping frock.
Since Kate debuted her shorter hair a few weeks ago, we’ve loved her bold summer fashion choices, from black and white polka dots to this latest bohemian ’70s dress. Since most of us don’t have iconic British fashion houses on speed dial as Kate does, here are a few similar off-the-shoulder red dresses, perfect for your next summer soirée.
Forever 21 Open-Shoulder Maxi Dress, $48
Alice + Olivia Pansy Embroidered Off-the-Shoulder Boho Maxi Dress, $279
ASOS Pleated Off Shoulder Maxi Dress, $40
Most of these are affordable, so it’s easy to look like royalty while on a tight budget. As for Kate, we hope she had the best time at the garden party…and we can’t wait to see what other fashion surprises she’s got up her sleeve this summer.
