Kate Middleton seems genuinely excited for Meghan and Harry—so the rumors need to stop

The royal family is so low drama that sometimes tabloids try to create it where it doesn’t exist. And where those Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton feud rumors are concerned? That seems to be exactly what’s going on.

In case you’re out of the loop, various outlets (like the New Zealand Herald) have been reporting that Markle and Middleton had a falling out and that they don’t get along. But you can consider those rumors officially debunked. As Elle pointed out, on Wednesday, November 28th, Middleton and Prince William visited Leicester to pay tribute to victims of a helicopter crash that happened last month, and when someone at the appearance had the chance to ask Middleton about her future niece or nephew, she expressed nothing but loving enthusiasm.

In fact, Middleton said she was “absolutely” excited about Markle’s pregnancy, especially since that meant that her kids would have cousins.

“It’s such a special time to have all the kiddies and a cousin for George and Charlotte as well as Louis so it’ll be really special,” Middleton said.

She sounds like a proud future aunt to us, and like there’s no reason to believe any of the rumors that a feud is brewing.

We’re kind of relieved, because we’d hate to think that there was any bad blood between Middleton and Markle, especially since their children will be cousins, and Louis and the new baby will be pretty close in age. Besides, William and Harry have always been super close—it wouldn’t be right if their wives didn’t have a good relationship, too. Ultimately, it’s pretty lame that the tabloids have resorted to pitting women against women for the sake of a headline.

For now, it seems like all is well in the royal family. Now can we all get back to hedging our bets on what baby name Markle and Harry will choose?
