Kate Mara’s whimsical Dior dress looks like an art project and we love it

There is perhaps nobody quite as fascinating as actress and fashionista Kate Mara. Her genetics are just godly (Mara’s sister is fellow actress and bombshell Rooney Mara), her parent’s families are founders of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants, and she’s a face of the Humane Society of the United States. Most recently though? Mara wore a dainty yet totally rebellious Dior dress as she attended the premiere of Man Down at ArcLight Hollywood this week.

Mara strutted the red carpet displaying what looked like hand-drawn designs on a tan, short gown of many light, flowy layers. She met up with friend and actor Shia LaBouf, who she recently went to bat for during a time when his somewhat odd behavior’s made the occasional headline. With or without Shia, Kate Mara looks chic, feminine and yet kinda rock n’ roll in this faux-graffiti’d look.

Is it just us or is this dress some major art project inspo?

The Man Down star wore a deep side part in her flirty blonde bob, pairing her eye-catching nude dress with some intricate peep-toe heels.

This dress has us impressed and mesmerized, for sure. It’s like a hidden picture puzzle from an old Highlights magazine! *cough* Smile Jamie Bell …it was just a joke.

Kate added a little drama on her famously flawless face by swiping on a vampy fall-inspired lip and using a brow pencil to elongate her thin eyebrows. The 33-year-old wore a smudged black rim around her dark eyes and kept distracting jewelery to a minimum. No jewels necessary when your dress is a beaded accessory all on its own!

While Man Down was actually filmed and wrapped in 2015, it’s making its rounds at art house theaters this winter. Catch the post-apocalyptic thriller near you starting Dec. 2!
