Karen Walker’s new collection allows you to sport eyeshadow without applying an ounce of makeup

Designer Karen Walker has released a new collection of sunglasses, and it could be the world’s easiest way to apply “eyeshadow.”

The “eccentrically elegant” ready-to-wear women’s brand is a favorite of stars like Rihanna, Alexa Chung, and Lorde. It already boasts a serious selection of sunnies. Styles include classic silhouettes and angular retro-inspired frames.

This latest collection plays with the concept of eyewear as eye makeup. The glasses are rimless to create a softer look. Lenses come in tints like soft rose and gold.

Karen Walker (not to be confused with Megan Mullally’s Will & Grace character) collaborated with MAC Cosmetics on a campaign that featured the company’s Colour Rocker matte lipsticks.

See the world through literal rose-colored glasses.

MAC senior makeup artist Kiekie Stanners used Colour Rocker matte lipstick in the shade “Feeling Fizzy.”

On the eyeshadow concept, Karen told WWD:

"We wanted to play with the idea of going from eyewear to a beauty product…It gives the impression of a dusting of an eyeshadow over the eyes…rather than pale frames."

Sunshine yellow goes for the gold.

Apparently the “winter sunglasses” aren’t dark enough to really protect the eyes from the sun’s UV rays, so they’re best for music video shoots or hungover indoor brunches.

Disco Circus Silver, $211.77

The “bifocal” effect of a half-mirrored shade is like the eyewear version of a cut crease.

The angles of these lenses imitate the arch of an eyebrow.
