People are freaking out about Kanye West’s latest casting call

Kanye West is no stranger to controversy. We don’t really need to get too detailed here, but anyone who follows any semblance of celebrity news knows that if Kanye’s name isn’t in it, it’s only a matter of time before he says or does something noteworthy enough to sneak right back in.

Which is fine with us, considering he often makes a lot of really astute (yet, as mentioned, often controversial) points.

And, yes, is kind of a musical god. We know, Kanye.

So it’s not really a huge surprise that one of his latest messages, posted to his Twitter account Saturday, has stirred up quite the conversation. false

In the tweet, the “Famous” singer calls for women to come try out for the season 4 fashion show of his line Yeezy — an audition that is happening in Manhattan right at this moment, until 5 p.m. EST.

The biggest part people are questioning is the inclusion of the term “multiracial,” from what he means by it to how they feel about it.

While the general consensus seems to be confusion, some people are pretty sure they know what Ye means by the requirement (even though these opinions themselves are varied as well).

And some people are just giving no Fs and seeing any kind of humor they can.

While Ye’s true meaning is not certain, if it can be taken to mean he’s seeking out women of races who don’t get the representation that is traditionally afforded white women in a society of very questionable standards about what constitutes beauty, we’re stoked.

The more representation across the board, the better — and we’re excited to see what Yeezy season 4 has in store.
