Yes, Justin Timberlake is working on a new album and it might be of country music

We’ve been waiting years for new music from Justin Timberlake, and yesterday it finally happened. He released a new song called “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” and we’ve been playing it on repeat ever since. The track is for the soundtrack of his upcoming movie Trolls, and it’s sooo catchy!

Could this mean that Justin is finally going to release a new album? We know he’s an incredibly busy guy, but we can’t help it. Now that we’ve been treated to one new single, we want a whole album.

Well, good news, JT fans — new music is in the works!

“I don’t know exactly when I’m going to put it out, but yeah, I’m definitely working on a new album,” he told Carson Daly on 97.1 Amp Radio yesterday.

It sounds like Justin’s upcoming record will be a little bit different than the Justin of past years. His incredible duet with Chris Stapleton at the CMAs last November was a good tip-off: He’s been feeling inspired by his Tennessee roots.

“I think where I grew up in America has a lot of influence,” the singer continued. “Growing up in Tennessee — very central of the country — Memphis is known as being the birthplace of rock and roll, but also the home of the blues, but Nashville’s right down the street so there’s a lot of country music.”

Daly took that idea a step further, suggesting that Justin create an album that spans all types of genres. And it turns out, that isn’t too far off from Justin’s plan!

“It’s funny that you say that because you might be in my brain about certain types of collaborations coming up on my next album,” he said.

We’re excited to see JT do a reverse Taylor Swift and go from pop to country. Until then, we’ll just be over here, listening to “Can’t Stop the Feeling” on repeat.
