The reason why Justin Bieber got a new tattoo makes our hearts feel heavy

This week, Justin Bieber showed off a fresh tattoo on his Instagram. Though the ink is simple – a plain letter “G” – the meaning behind it is absolutely beautiful. That “G” stands for Georgia, the daughter of pastor and Justin’s longtime friend, Chad Veach. Georgia was diagnosed with a rare brain disorder called Lissencephaly when she was only four months old. This condition can be brutal, causing seizures and slowed development.

True, the Biebs has done some questionable things in the past, but this tribute to a sick little girl and her family is really heartwarming and meaningful. Justin expressed his gratitude and well wishes for the Veaches in the caption of his tattoo’s Instagram debut.

“This is for the strongest couple i know Chad and Julia Veach! Their daughter was born with Lissencephaly. She is incredible and has the sweetest soul. You guys make me better and I’m blessed to have you in my life #Georgia #gtat

Multiple celebrities have gotten “G” tattoos in honor of Georgia and her strong parents. Over a year ago, Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson posted a photo of herself holding baby Georgia, showing a capital “G” on her wrist. JB’s ex, Selena Gomez, also has a small cursive one behind her ear.

Who knew that one itty-bitty tattoo could have such an inspiring meaning? Bravo, Justin Bieber.
