Justin Bieber gets real with Jimmy Fallon about the VMAs, the tears
This year’s VMAs were crazy. There were so many surprising, unscripted moments that still have us all talking (and asking, “What’s good?”). But Justin Bieber’s tearful performance was one that had us all really taken aback, and last night he talked to Jimmy Fallon about the experience.
“It was just so overwhelming for me, everything, just the performance – I missed some cues so I was a little disappointed at that – and just everyone, just the support,” he told Fallon. “Honestly, I just wasn’t expecting them to support me in the way they did … Last time I was at an award show I was booed.”
Bieber has had a rough time lately in the press, so when he talks about feeling judged it’s easy to see how getting on stage could be pretty emotional. He’s still young with a lot of attention and pressure on him, and whether you’re a fan or not, his on-stage tears definitely make sense after hearing him talk about what was going through his mind.
And by the way, who doesn’t need a good cry now and then?
Check out what the Biebs has to say about it all. . .
