Justin Bieber asked his fans to “take a chill pill,” but it was actually way sweet
Having been world famous for literally a decade, you’d think Justin Bieber would be pretty used to hoards of hysterical fans everywhere he goes. But according to Entertainment Weekly, Bieber had to ask screaming concertgoers to ‘relax for like 2 seconds’! This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, as Bieber announced he won’t be taking any more fan photos and actually deleted his Instagram — two things that were the result of mounting pressure.
But while this latest incident (which took place at a concert in England) might sound harsh on paper, Biebs actually did it in a super endearing, light-hearted way, so we’re definitely not mad about it. In a video captured on social media (of course), he said:
"Can you guys do me a favor? Can you guys just relax for like two seconds?"
Ummmmm yeah, that didn’t really work. Even after explaining how he’s been on the road away from his family and friends (awww), Bieber wasn’t given much peace and quiet. He tried a different tactic; asking his fans to scream after the songs — but that was met with, well, more screaming.
"Can you show me you love me in a different way? The screaming is just so obnoxious. [...] Take a chill pill for a second, hear me speak. I don't feel like I'm being heard."
Again, while this sounds like it could have come across as kind of preachy, Justin managed to keep it light and non-whiny (honestly, after watching the vid his jokey pleas seem totally and utterly justified!).
You can see the whole clip here. Notice how sweet he is, even when scolding.

We hope Beliebers were listening, because seriously — not screaming when someone is trying to talk to you is not too much to ask. Let the man have his moment!
