Justin Bieber apologized for telling JoJo Siwa to burn her car—but let’s all calm down

Sometimes joking on social media (slash via text, email, or any other format in which we’re not delivering our words in person) can leave room for some awkward misunderstandings. And Justin Bieber just got in some low-key hot water for precisely that reason. On Friday, December 28th, 15-year-old dancer and singer JoJo Siwa of Dance Moms, Nickelodeon, and YouTube fame, shared a photo of herself standing next to a convertible her parents bought her for Christmas. The car is painted in rainbows and glitter, and features a larger-than-life painting of Siwa. She captioned the photo, “BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!!”

Bieber commented on the post with a simple, "Burn it. Burn it. Burn it."

Ouch…but also…LOL (sorry, JoJo. We love you, but it is kind of funny). However, some JoJo fans took the comment seriously, causing Bieber to clarify that he in no way meant to offend the star or insinuate he wished her any harm.

Luckily, JoJo took the comment in stride (and good humor), writing back with “it’s all good bro! you can perform at my 16th birthday party and we’ll call it good!”

She then shared a (hilarious) photo of herself in the car with a Justin Bieber cutout.

All’s well that ends well in the world of internet misunderstandings (that’s a saying…right?). Now, Justin…we think we know where you need to be on May 19th, 2019 (aka JoJo’s 16th birthday).
