This behind-the-scenes “Jurassic World” video makes the sequel look like a terrifying horror movie
If Jurassic World was an action-adventure flick, its sequel — Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom — looks like an all-out horror film.
The film picks up years after the end of Jurassic World, with the amusement park closed down and dinosaurs roaming freely across Isla Nublar. When a volcano eruption threatens to extinct the last living dinosaurs, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard, rocking more sensible footwear this time around), and her team of Dinosaur Protection Group members team up to save them from extinction — you know, again.
In this new featurette from the upcoming film, it seems Fallen Kingdom isn’t just bigger and bolder (with plenty more explosions) than its predecessor, it’s also a *bit* scarier. That’s thanks, in part, to the franchise’s new director, J.A. Bayona.
"I love playing with suspense," Bayona says during the featurette. "I like intensity and I love to make the audience feel the total experience."
And based on this featurette, which gives just a taste of the upcoming film, fans are definitely going to feel part of the experience.

The nearly three minute clip features ominous music, more than a few jumpy moments, and at least one blood-curdling scream. It looks like everything we’ve come to know and love in a horror film — with the addition of dinosaurs running wild, of course.
"He's genius when it comes to frightening people," Howard quips of Bayona.
The upcoming film will not only see the return of Pratt and Howard, B.D. Wong will reprise his role as Dr. Henry Wu from Jurassic World. AND LET’S NOT FORGET, Jeff Goldblum makes a much-anticipated return to the Jurassic franchise as Dr. Ian Malcolm.
Watch the dinosaurs (hopefully) evade extinction when Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits theaters on June 22nd, 2018.
