Get excited, Disney devotees- a ‘Jungle Cruise’-themed restaurant is coming your way!
This weekend is the D23 Expo AKA The Big Fan Convention Where Disney Tells Us Everything Cool It’s Doing This Coming Year. We’ve already gotten some pretty great sneak peeks from the Happiest Weekend on Earth (First images of Alice Through The Looking Glass! ALL the scoop on Finding Dory!) and now we’ve just received word that one of our all-time fave Disney rides ‘The Jungle Cruise’ is about to become… a restaurant?
Yes, it’s true, the Magic Kingdom Park over at Walt Disney World is going to get a Cruise-inspired restaurant, ‘Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen,’ which will open up shop in the park’s Adventureland. Which means Blue Bayou AKA Pirates of the Caribbean restaurant, you should be shaking in your over-the-knee, dozen-buckled pirate boots right about now.
According to a statement from Disney, “…guests will be able to experience ‘World Famous Jungle Cuisine’ in one of several unique dining rooms – including a crew mess hall and a once-hidden secret meeting room of the famed Society of Explorers and Adventurers. The restaurant will also be staffed by Jungle Cruise Skippers.”
But will the servers give speeches that are as awesomely groan-worthy as their Jungle Cruise schtick? As excited as I am about the idea of having ‘World Famous Jungle Cuisine’ in a secret explorer room, I’m going to be a little disappointed if my Skipper servers don’t bust out the CHEESIEST lines when they’re taking my drink order.
The restaurant is set to open in the park in late 2015. We’re excited.
