Julianne Hough’s ‘Tonight Show’ interview just got us SO excited for “Grease: Live”
With each passing day we get that much closer to January 31. And what happens on January 31? We all tune in and watch Fox’s Grease: Live. The cast includes awesome performers like Julianne Hough, who dropped by The Tonight Show Monday night to tell Jimmy Fallon all about the upcoming televised production. And guys, she’s as excited as we are. “I literally feel like my 5-year-old self,” she squealed.
Hough will joined by an amazing group of talented actors and actresses. Obviously Hough, who is also right now starring in Dirty Grandpa, is taking on the iconic role of Sandy. Aaron Tveit is playing Danny Zuko, Vanessa Hudgens will take the stage as Rizzo, Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchy, and Keke Palmer as Marty. There will also be some amazing guest appearances, including Boyz II Men singing “Beauty School Dropout,” and cameos from original cast members including Didi Conn and Barry Pearl.
The set up of this show is unlike any of the live performances that have come before it — think Peter Pan LIVE! and The Wiz Live (both of which aired on NBC). This time, the cast will travel on golf carts between three different soundstages featuring movie-style sets, and audience members will be seated on bleachers and on the sets as a part of the performance. Hopefully, it will be pretty seamless, but the production will also use GoPros to give a behind-the-scenes look at how it all unfolds.
We’re pretty excited, but perhaps no one is as excited as Julianne. Check out her conversation with Jimmy Fallon below.
