This is why Joshua Jackson is not down for a “Dawson’s Creek” reboot and it’s making us sad
Say it isn’t so! The Affair star Joshua Jackson shoots down a Dawson’s Creek reunion, but Ellen DeGeneres isn’t taking no for an answer.
On Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the show’s host had a serious question to ask Jackson. Is a Dawson’s Creek revival a possibility? With shows like Fuller House and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life taking over our lives — in a good way — a Dawson’s Creek reunion doesn’t seem so far fetched.
Sadly, the 38-year-old actor shot down that idea pretty quickly, especially because the show killed off Michelle William’s character Jen Lindley. Of course, DeGeneres had an answer to that problem. “She could come back as the evil twin or something,” DeGeneres said.
Jackson, who played the cutest and most charming guy in Capeside, Pacey Witter, wasn’t opposed to that idea saying, “That’s actually a great idea.”
Unfortunately that was the only positive note the Canadian actor talked about when addressing the possible revival.
"The other thing is, it’s been a very long time," Jackson told DeGeneres. "And I think, for anybody who was a fan of Dawson's, to actually see the four of us on camera again might be a little bit shocking and kinda heartbreaking."
Okay, it might be a little strange seeing Capeside’s finest grown up, but we are totally okay with it, we swear!
"We're not cute kids anymore," he further explained. "I mean, we're holding up OK, but I think if you put the four of us now next to the four of us then, it might be a little shocking."
“I disagree,” DeGeneres said. We also disagree — strongly disagree. Come on Pacey, err, we mean Joshua, a Dawson’s Creek reboot would be epic.
Plus, wouldn’t it be amazing to see what actually happened to Pacey and Joey Potter (Katie Holmes)?
That finale left us with just a taste of their lives together and we’ve been wanting more for years now.
We do agree however that it wouldn’t be the same without Jen, so they’d have to do like a flashback or vision type thing, but other than that, bring on the Dawson’s Creek revival!
