Josh Hutcherson is going to be way more than the Boy with the Bread in his new show
Are you ready to binge-watch Josh Hutcherson saving the world? It’s going to happen sooner than you think, because our 74th Hunger Games Champion has just signed on to play the lead in a brand new show from Hulu. So much yes to this.
Hutcherson is going to star in Future Man, a show from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. You read that correctly, and Future Man is, without a doubt, going to be a comedy, coming from these two guys who also worked on The Night Before, This Is The End, and Superbad together.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Future Man will follow Hutcherson as Josh Futturman, who “still lives at home with his parents, and has a dead-end job as a janitor at a sexual disease research… [and] is socially inept, has low self-esteem, and can’t approach women.” The one thing he has going for him is that he’s really good at the fictional video game, Cybergeddon, and after beating the final level, “he’s visited by characters from the game who claim it is a training manual and he’s been selected to travel back in time and help them save the world. Is he ready? Absolutely not.”
It kind of sounds like the video game version of Galaxy Quest, but now throw in Hutcherson and mix it all together with Rogen’s brand of comedy. Obviously, we’re going to watch every single episode of this.
There’s no date for when the show will begin production, let alone land on the streaming site. But we’ll be right here, patiently waiting for it.
