Nick Jonas cleared up the Jonas Brothers reunion rumors, but we still have questions
Several weeks ago, the Jonas Brothers reactivated their Instagram account, and anybody who was a teenager between 2005 and 2009 was shook to their core. The Instagram account was deactivated in 2013 around the time that the Jonas Brothers officially retired as a band, and then boom! It returned. Naturally, the internet quickly ignited with forever fans wondering if the boys were reuniting. Sadly, Nick Jonas has squashed all our Jonas dreams.
Ryan Seacrest interviewed Nick for E! at the 2018 Grammy Awards and asked what the deal was with all the Jonas buzz. Unfortunately, Nick shut it down real quick.
“We hung out for a weekend all together, and I guess our Instagram was restarted or reopened,” Nick revealed to Seacrest. “But I can tell you right now there’s no reunion planned, but I can never say never, you never know what’s gonna happen.”
Ugh, the red-carpet standard non-answer: “never say never.” So, the Jonai aren’t reuniting, but they could? We guess that’s what this means?
The Jonas Brothers reunion rumors began on January 15th, 2018 when their IG account mysteriously reawakened. Then on January 22nd, a musician named Ryan Liestman posted a photo with the trio and captioned it “Family reunion.” On January 27th, Kevin Jonas uploaded a photo of the three brothers looking deep in thought. The brothers’ last album together was released in 2009, and they were set to embark on a “comeback tour” in 2013, which was canceled just days before it was supposed to start. Now, Kevin is settled down into married life, Joe is newly engaged and killing it as the frontman for the band DNCE, and Nick has a robust acting and solo music career.
Tbh, they all seem a little too successful to launch a reunion right now. But why are they hanging out so much lately? Maybe because they’re brothers? Okay, sure. Is it too soon to launch a reunion anyway? Probably. Then why is their Instagram back online? And why does Nick seem perplexed by that fact? Honestly, Nick’s statement on the Jonas Brothers reunion rumors has left us with more questions than answers.
