Jon Stewart thinks the election is just as absurd as we do — and he has some important advice about voting
During the Woodruff Foundation’s 10th annual Stand Up for Heroes Benefit, Jon Stewart got real. When we say he got real, we mean Jon Stewart critiqued the election for being a total and complete mess. We’re seriously cheering. During his standup, Jon Stewart recalled his Twitter battle with Donald Trump, and shared his feelings in general about how things went down this election season.
Basically, he thinks things are as nonsensical as we do.
"I'm not as much of a political analyst. But if I could ask you a question that I've been saying to my television, it's 'What the [sic]? What the [sic] is going on? What is happening?!'"
He explained that he used to spend his time searching for ridiculousness in politics for The Daily Show, saying it was basically like being a “turd-miner.”
But, Stewart said, it was nothing like it would be today.
"I was turd-miner for 16 years. Right now a shit asteroid just hit the earth."
Stewart also questioned Trump’s argument that the entire election is “rigged,” while pointing out that Trump doesn’t seem to be struggling much with oppression.
"Dude, you live in a tower with your name on it in gold. How well would you be doing if the man wasn’t keeping you down?"
Remember when Stewart got in a Twitter fight with Donald Trump? Stewart hasn’t forgotten.
What a time to be alive, friends.
He succinctly wrapped up his bit, saying,
“Vote wisely this November 8."
