Jon Hamm is joining the “Star Wars” family as this classic character

Another A-list actor is joining the Star Wars franchise. And no, he won’t be appearing in The Last Jedi (that we know of).

Lucasfilm just announced that Jon Hamm will read the part of Boba Fett in the upcoming audiobook From a Certain Point of View. The book, which will be released on October 3rd, celebrates the 40th anniversary of the franchise by telling 40 stories from the perspectives of background and supporting characters in the galaxy far, far away.

The Mad Men star will be joined by Neil Patrick Harris (!!!), Daniel José Older, Saskia Maarleveld, Jonathan Davis, Carol Monda, January LaVoy, and Star Wars alums Ashley Eckstein, Janina Gavankarand Marc Thompson.

* You can say that again, Han! *

Producers Nick Martorelli and Aaron Blank understood that the audiobook was quite the undertaking.

But they revealed to StarWars.com that they wanted these unknown stories to be brought to life.

"Everyone knows the basic shape of the story — we’ve seen A New Hope hundreds of times," Martorelli explained to StarWars.com. "But this audiobook shows sides of that story we’ve never heard before. The amount of talent working on this audiobook is phenomenal, and they’ve put together something special — unique, but very familiar."

From a Certain Point of View features stories from all over the Star Wars universe.

The book is written by more than 40 authors, including Meg Cabot, Wil Wheaton, and Gary Whitta. We’re so excited to not only read about the supporting characters, but also to be able to hear their stories brought to life.

"Since we have over 40 authors in this collection retelling different moments from Star Wars literary history, we wanted to use the audiobook as an opportunity to work with an all-star cast of narrators," Martorelli said. "We matched our veteran Star Wars narrators with stories that suited their talents, and from there we dreamed big and reached out to people who might have been interested in celebrating this landmark 40th anniversary project."

From a Certain Point of View will be released in hard copy, e-book, and audiobook form on October 3rd.
