Jon Hamm has a secret Instagram account so he can follow baby animals, and now we love him even more
In this day and age, there are two kinds of celebs — those who do the social media thing, and those who do not. Darling Jon Hamm, in all of his glory, chooses to not partake in social media, and we can totally respect that. As he told PEOPLE, however, Jon Hamm does secretly get behind Instagram for one adorable reason.
Jon Hamm has a private Instagram account that he uses to follow baby animals.
Even those of us who don’t love social media can see the appeal of the ‘gram.
"I get why people like Instagram. I have an Instagram account that I use to follow beautiful places and baby animals and things that make me feel joy."
Um, adorable.
It seems like there are quite a few celebrities who indulge in the private social media account thing. Recently, it was discovered that Lorde uses a private account to rate the best onion rings. Because of course she does.
Hamm went on to explain why he isn’t a big fan of social media in general.
"The only way I can be Zen about it is to disengage from it. I don't read about myself on the Internet. Not having a Twitter account is nice. I don't have to deal with Facebook. I don't have to deal with any of that stuff and honestly not engaging with it means, for me, it doesn't really exist."
Not reading about yourself on the internet is perhaps one of the best #selfcare tips we can imagine.
Hamm currently stars in the new movie Baby Driver. As a person who has always laid relatively low, we love that Hamm focuses on his “zen” instead of getting caught up in social media.
Though we’ll never get over how adorable it is that he logs on to look at baby animal pics.
